He is currently a member of the Royal Australian Navy Band, a role he has had since 2012. He also performed as a cruise ship musician for 6 years, has taught instrumental lessons and conducts a community concert band. |

Russell is a Melbourne-based saxophonist and woodwind virtuoso with a passion that resonates through every note he plays. From a young age, he dreamt of mastering the saxophone, a dream he pursued relentlessly. Starting with the clarinet in high school due to limited resources, Russell’s determination saw him purchase his first saxophone in his third year.
A seasoned performer, Russell honed his craft with an Advanced Certificate in Music Performance (Jazz/Popular) from Box Hill TAFE and a Bachelor of Music Performance (Improvisation) at the Victorian College of the Arts. His relentless pursuit of excellence continued with a Graduate Diploma of Education from Monash University.
Guided by world-class mentors like Bob Reynolds and Tony Hicks, Russell’s talent has taken him across the globe, including nearly six years aboard Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, performing in theatre orchestras. Currently a proud member of the Royal Australian Navy Band, he continues to dazzle audiences across Australia and beyond.
